Exhaust system hangers and insulators provide the following benefits:
| • | Support the weight of the exhaust system |
| • | Isolate engine noise |
| • | Isolate engine vibration |
| • | Space the exhaust system away from the underbody of the vehicle and allow for exhaust system expansion that occurs as the exhaust system warms up |
The exhaust system utilizes several hangers and insulators:
| • | The exhaust resonator pipe is supported by exhaust pipe hangers. |
| • | The exhaust pipe where it meets the right side of the vehicle is supported by the exhaust muffler front hanger bracket and an exhaust pipe hanger bracket insulator. |
| • | The exhaust pipe where it crosses under the rear suspension is supported with the exhaust pipe rear hanger bracket and an exhaust pipe rear hanger insulator. |
| • | The rear of the muffler has two exhaust muffler rear hanger insulators and a exhaust muffler rear hanger bracket bolted to the bumper impact bar. |
