Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 648588 Size: SH
  1. Remove the windshield side garnish moldings Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.

    2. Important: Remove the instrument panel (IP) upper trim panel slowly. The retainer clips could possibly fall into the IP.

  2. Lift the IP upper trim panel up approximately 51 mm (2 inches). Pull rearward to release IP upper trim panel retainers.
  3. Rotate the ambient light sensor 1/4 turn counterclockwise to release it from the IP upper trim panel.
  4. If equipped, rotate the sun load sensor 1/4 turn counterclockwise to release it from the IP upper trim panel.
  5. Remove the IP upper trim panel from the IP.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 648588 Size: SH
  1. Position the instrument panel (IP) upper trim panel to the IP.
  2. Install the ambient light sensor 1/4 turn clockwise to install it to the IP upper trim panel
  3. If equipped, install the sun load sensor 1/4 turn counterclockwise to install it to the IP upper trim panel.
  4. Align the IP upper trim panel locating pins and retainers to the slots in the IP.
  5. Carefully push down and forward on the IP upper trim panel to secure into place.
  6. Install the windshield side garnish moldings Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
