Perform the following procedure in order to diagnose the key-in-ignition reminder:

  1. Place the key in the ignition cylinder.
  2. Ensure that the ignition is in the LOCK position.
  3. Open and close the driver's door.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  5. Open and close the driver's door.

The key-in-ignition reminder sounds when the following conditions exist:

    • The driver's door is open
    • The key is fully inserted in the ignition cylinder
    • The ignition switch is in one of the following positions:
       - LOCK
       - OFF
       - ACC

Perform the following procedure in order to diagnose the fasten seat belt reminder:

  1. Release the driver's seat belt.
  2. Turn the ignition switch from the OFF position to the RUN position for 7 seconds. Turn OFF the switch.
  3. Fasten the driver's seat belt.
  4. Turn the ignition switch from the LOCK position to the RUN position.
    • The fasten seat belt reminder sounds for 7 seconds when the ignition switch is turned from the LOCK/OFF position to the RUN position with the driver's seat belt unfastened.
    • The fasten seat belt reminder does not sound when the ignition switch is turned from the LOCK/OFF position to the RUN position with the driver's seat belt fastened.

Perform the following procedure in order to diagnose the fasten belt indicator lamp:

  1. Release (unfasten) the driver's seat belt.
  2. Turn the ignition switch from the LOCK position to the RUN position for 7 seconds. Turn OFF the switch.
  3. Fasten the driver's seat belt.
  4. Turn the ignition switch from the LOCK/OFF position to the RUN position.
    • The fasten belt indicator lamp turns ON for 7 seconds when the ignition switch is turned from the LOCK/OFF position to the RUN position with the driver's seat belt unfastened.
    • The fasten seat belt indicator may be on steady or flash during the first 20 seconds, then it flashes (at a rate of 60 flashes per minute).
    • The fasten belt indicator lamp remains OFF when the ignition switch is turned from the LOCK/OFF position to the RUN position with the driver's seat belt fastened.

Perform the following procedure in order to diagnose the parking brake reminder:

  1. Apply the parking brake.
  2. Step and firmly hold on the brake pedal.
  3. Close all of the vehicle doors.
  4. Start the engine.
  5. Shift transaxle out of PARK.
  6. Release the parking brake.
  7. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

The parking brake reminder sounds when the following conditions exist:

    • The parking brake is applied.
    • The transaxle is shifted out of PARK or NEUTRAL.

Perform the following procedure in order to diagnose the turn signal reminder:

  1. Test drive the vehicle for at least 1.2 km (3/4 mile) with the turn signal switch ON in either the left turn position or the right turn position.
  2. Move the turn signal switch to the OFF position.

The headlamps on reminder sounds once for each flash of turn signal lights when the following conditions exist:

    • The turn signal switch is in the left turn position or the right turn position.
    • The vehicle has traveled a distance of 1.2 km (3/4 mile).

Perform the following procedure in order to diagnose the headlamps on reminder:

  1. Ensure the headlamp switch is in the OFF position.
  2. Open and close the driver's door.
  3. Turn the headlamp switch to the PARK or HEAD position.
  4. Open and close the driver's door.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  6. Open and close the driver's door again.
  7. Turn the headlamp switch to the OFF position.

The headlamps on reminder sounds when the following conditions exist:

    • The driver's door is open.
    • The headlamp switch is in either the PARK position or the HEAD position.
    • The ignition switch is in the following positions:
       - LOCK
       - OFF
       - ACC
