Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the water deflector as needed. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 308453 Size: SH
  3. Cut off outside handle to rod-to-lock clip from the lock using side cutters.

    4. Unscrew the remainder of the clip from the outside handle rod. Discard the clip.

  4. Adjust as follows:
    5. 4.1. Position a NEW outside handle rod-to-lock clip onto the door lock lever.
    4.2. Position the outside door handle rod in the clip to eliminate any free play in the outside door handle.
    4.3. Press the clip cover closed over the threaded outside door handle rod.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 308453 Size: SH
  1. Install the energy absorber pad.
  2. Install the energy absorber pad. Refer to Rear Door Energy Absorber Pad Replacement .
  3. Install the water deflector as needed. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  4. Install the trim pad. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  5. Inspect the door lock system for proper operation.
