Preliminary Procedures

1. Remove the instrument panel lower trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Replacement.
2. Remove the windshield defroster duct. Refer to Windshield Defroster Duct Replacement.
3. Remove the right window air outlet duct. Refer to Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side.

Left Window Air Outlet Screw (Qty: 1)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
2 N·m (18 lb in)

Carrier Assembly Upper Bolt (Qty: 4)

Tighten
9 N·m (80 lb in)

Carrier Assembly Lower Bolt (Qty: 2)

Tighten
9 N·m (80 lb in)

Carrier Assembly to Body Bolt (Qty: 4)

Tighten
9 N·m (80 lb in)

Carrier Assembly

Procedure

1. Prior to removing the carrier assembly, note the routing of the wiring to ensure proper reinstallation.
2. Disconnect all electrical connections.
3. Remove the fasteners securing the HVAC module assembly to the carrier assembly. Refer to HVAC Module Assembly Replacement.
4. Prior to removing the carrier assembly, support the HVAC module.
5. With the aid of an assistant, remove the carrier assembly from the vehicle.
6. When replacing the carrier assembly, transfer all necessary components.
