This bulletin is being issued to revise the Track and Motor Synchronization procedure in the Roof sub-section of the appropriate Service Manual.

Revise the text of the Track and Motor Synchronization procedure to read as follows:

Track and Motor Synchronization

Important: If the sunroof motor is the only part being serviced, follow the power sunroof motor replacement procedure for the sunroof motor to sunroof glass timing. Refer to Power Sunroof Motor Replacement.

A new replacement power sunroof motor is set to the fully closed and flush position at the factory.

  1. Remove the sunroof glass panel.

    2. Refer to Sunroof Glass Panel Replacement.

  2. Fabricate a gage (2) 46.8 +/- 0.5 mm (1.84 in) wide (A). A piece of thick paper will work.
  3. Set the gage into the track near the rear of the opening between the move driver slide (1) and the bracket.
  4. Move the driver slide fore or aft in order to get the proper setting.
  5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for the other side.
  6. Install the sunroof motor. Refer to Power Sunroof Motor Replacement.
  7. Install the sunroof glass panel. Refer to Sunroof Glass Panel Replacement.
  8. Operate the sunroof through all functions to ensure proper operation.
