Front Wheel Drive Shaft Seal Replacement Left

1. Disconnect the left drive axle from the transaxle. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement in Drive Axle.
2. Secure the left drive axle to the left steering knuckle and strut.



3. Use a screwdriver or other suitable tool to pry out the seal. Do NOT damage the seal bore.

Tools Required

1. Use a light wipe of transaxle fluid to lubricate the seal lip.



2. Use the J 34115
3. Install the J 37292-B

Important: Carefully guide the axle shaft past the lip seal. Do NOT allow the shaft splines to contact any portion of the seal lip surface or damage to the seal will occur.

4. Connect the left drive axle to the transaxle. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement in Drive Axle.
5. Adjust the fluid level. Refer to Fluid Capacity Specifications .
6. Inspect for proper completion of the repairs.
7. Inspect for proper fluid level.
8. Inspect for fluid leaks.

Front Wheel Drive Shaft Seal Replacement Right

1. Disconnect the right drive axle from the transaxle. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement in Wheel Drive Shafts.
2. Secure the right drive axle to the right steering knuckle and strut.



3. Use a screwdriver or other suitable tool to pry out the seal. Do NOT damage the seal bore.

Tools Required

1. Use a light wipe of transaxle fluid to lubricate the seal lip.



2. Use the J 29130 to install a new seal.
3. Install the J 37292-B in the seal.

Important: Carefully guide the axle shaft past the lip seal. Do NOT allow the shaft splines to contact any portion of the seal lip surface or damage to the seal will occur.

4. Connect the drive axle to the transaxle. Refer to in Drive Axle.
5. Remove the J 37292-B .
6. Install the right drive shaft. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement in Wheel Drive Shafts.
7. Adjust the fluid level. Refer to Fluid Capacity Specifications
8. Inspect for proper completion of the repairs.
9. Inspect for proper fluid level.
10. Inspect for fluid leaks.
