- Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
- Monitor the fasten safety belt indicator while buckling and unbuckling the driver seat belt. The fasten safety belt indicator should turn OFF when buckle and turn ON when unbuckle.

- Buckle the driver's seat belt.
- With a scan tool, observe the Driver Belt Status parameter in the SIR scan tool data list.
Does the scan tool indicate that the Driver Belt Status parameter
displays Buckled?

- Disconnect the seat belt indicator control circuit connector from the Body Control Module (BCM). Refer to
Body Control Module Replacement
in Body Control System.
- Test the seat belt indicator control circuit for a open or a short to voltage.

- Turn OFF the ignition.
- Disconnect the seat belt switch-LF connector.
- Test the seat belt switch-LF signal circuit for an open or high resistance.

- Reconnect all seat belt components.
- Monitor the fasten safety belt indicator while buckling and unbuckling the driver seat belt. The fasten safety belt indicator should turn OFF when buckle and turn ON when unbuckle.
