Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement .
  2. Remove the seat cushion. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 578940 Size: SH
  3. Remove the bolt retaining the seat belt retractor to the adjuster.

    4. Object Number: 578950 Size: MH
  4. Release the J-hook retainers at the bottom of the seat back trim (19).
  5. Roll the seat back trim cover up enough to access the seat back frame retaining bolts (16,17).
  6. Disconnect electrical wiring to the seat back.
  7. Remove the retaining bolts (16,17).
  8. Remove the seat back.

  9. Remove the nut retaining the seat belt buckle to the adjuster.

    10. Object Number: 854176 Size: SH
  10. Remove the horizontal actuator (4). Refer to Seat Adjuster Horizontal Actuator Replacement .

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 854176 Size: SH
  1. Install the horizontal actuator (4). Refer to Seat Adjuster Horizontal Actuator Replacement .

    2. Object Number: 578940 Size: SH
  2. Install the seat belt buckle to the adjuster. Refer to Seat Belt Buckle Replacement - Left Front or Seat Belt Buckle Replacement - Right Front in Seat Belts.

    3. Object Number: 578950 Size: MH
  3. Release the J-hook retainers at the bottom of the seat back trim (19).
  4. Position the seat back to the adjuster.

    5. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the bolts (16,17).

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts (16,17) to 26 N·m (19 lb ft).

  6. Connect the electrical wiring from the seat back.
  7. Connect the seat back cover J-hook retainers.

  8. Install the seat belt retractor to the adjuster.
  9. Install the seat belt retractor bolt.

    10. Tighten
    Tighten the seat belt retractor bolt to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  10. Install the seat cushion. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Replacement .
  11. Install the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement .
  12. If the vehicle is equipped with memory seats, calibrate the seat. Refer to Memory Seat Calibration .
