Cooling, Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0530, (Replace A/C High Pressure Valve
on Mitsubishi Compressors Only) |

Condition
Some customers may comment that the A/C is inoperative, the A/C system
cycles too often, and/or cooling is insufficient. DTC P0530 may be set.
Correction
Diagnose and repair the A/C system following the service procedure below:
- Leak test the A/C system. Refer to Leak Testing SI Document ID
#762998.
 
- Inspect the A/C high pressure valve for leaks located on the A/C
compressor . If the A/C high pressure valve is the source of the leak, continue
with the next step. If the A/C high pressure valve is not the source of the
leak, refer to Diagnostic Starting Point - Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning
SI Document ID #663892.
 
- Recover the refrigerant from the system. Refer to Refrigerant
Recovery and Recharging SI Document ID #820665.
 
- Remove the A/C high pressure valve from the compressor and discard.
 
- Replace the A/C high pressure valve, P/N 10337355.
 
Tighten
Tighten the a/c high pressure valve to 12 N·m(9 ft lbs)
- Vacuum and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery
and Recharging SI Document ID #820665.
 
- Plug in a scan tool and check for DTC P0530. If DTC P0530 is set,
use the scan tool to clear the DTC. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions
for Running the DTC -- refer to DTC P0530 SI Document ID #759618. If
P0530 resets, run the diagnostic.
