For 1990-2009 cars only
- Remove the fuel injector sight shield if necessary. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
- Disengage the adjustment lock (1) on the cruise control cable. The lock is located at the TBI end of the cable.
- Hold the TBI at the closed position.
- Pull the cable conduit in order to reduce the slack in the cable.
- Engage the adjustment lock.
- Install the fuel injector sight shield if necessary. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
When the lock is disengaged, the cable moves freely in and out of the adjuster.
