Condition
Some customers may comment that the shift knob detaches from the shifter. This condition usually occurs during aggressive 1-2 shifts.
Cause
The cause of this condition may be due to the poor retention between the knob and the shift control.
Correction
Replace the shift knob with P/N 15229751 and the shift control assembly with P/N 15276076. This new knob and shift control assembly will provide improved retention between the two components. Refer to the Shift Control Assembly Replacement procedure in SI (Document ID 1523513).
