Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to 
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
 
- Remove the left front tire and wheel. Refer to 
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
 
- Remove the front air deflector. Refer to 
Front Air Deflector Replacement
.
 
- Clean any dirt or debris from the power steering gear solenoid/actuator wiring harness (1) and solenoid.
 
- Disconnect the power steering gear solenoid/actuator electrical connector and disconnect the power steering gear solenoid/actuator
wiring harness from the 2 plastic wiring harness retainers.
 
Important: Do not get dirt or debris on the lower portion or the solenoid below the hex or inside the solenoid port of the steering gear.
- Remove the power steering gear solenoid/actuator from the steering gear by turning it in a counterclockwise rotation.
 
- Remove the power steering gear solenoid/actuator from the vehicle.
 
Installation Procedure
Important: Do not get dirt or debris on the lower portion or the solenoid below the hex or inside the solenoid port of the steering gear.
Important: Make sure the new power steering gear solenoid/actuator is equipped with 2 O-rings visible beneath the hex portion of the solenoid.
- Install the power steering gear solenoid/actuator to the gear.
 
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Using the open-end crowfoot that comes in the service kit, install the power steering gear solenoid/actuator in the steering gear.
 
Tighten
Tighten the solenoid to 18 N·m (14 lb ft).
- Connect the power steering gear solenoid/actuator wiring harness to the 2 plastic wiring harness retainers
and connect the electrical connector.
 
- Install the front air deflector. Refer to 
Front Air Deflector Replacement
.
 
- Install the left front tire and wheel. Refer to 
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
 
- Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to 
Power Steering System Bleeding
.
 
- Lower the vehicle.
