Preliminary Procedure

Remove the upper intake manifold sight shield. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement .

Bolt, Power Steering Fluid Reservoir (Qty: 2)

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Tighten
25 N·m (18 lb ft)

Tip
After installation fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement LP1, LY7

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement for the 2.8L (LP1) engine or Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement for the 3.6L (LY7) engine.
  2. Remove the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement for the 2.8L (LP1)engine or Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement for the 3.6L (LY7) engine.
  3. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.
  4. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.

  5. Compress the clamp (1) and disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe/hose (2) from the power steering reservoir.

    6. Object Number: 1788992 Size: SH
  6. Compress the clamp (1) and disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet pipe/hose (2) from the power steering reservoir.

    7. Object Number: 1789020 Size: SH
  7. Remove the larger power steering fluid reservoir bolt (1).

    8. Object Number: 1789090 Size: SH
  8. Remove the 2 smaller power steering fluid reservoir bolts (1).
  9. Remove the power steering reservoir from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure
  1. Position the power steering reservoir to the vehicle.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1789090 Size: SH
  2. Install the 2 smaller power steering fluid reservoir bolts (1).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the 2 smaller bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  3. Install the larger power steering fluid reservoir bolt (1).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the larger bolt to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).

  4. Compress the clamp (1) and connect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet pipe/hose (2) to the power steering fluid reservoir.

    5. Object Number: 1788987 Size: SH
  5. Compress the clamp (1) and connect the power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe/hose (2) to the power steering fluid reservoir.
  6. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  7. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.
  8. Install the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement for the 2.8L (LP1)engine or Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement for the 3.6L (LY7) engine.
  9. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement for the 2.8L (LP1) engine or Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement for the 3.6L (LY7) engine.
  10. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.
