Condenser Tube Replacement 2.8L (LP1), 3.6L (LY7)

Tools Required

1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
3. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.



4. Remove the lower condenser line bolt (1).
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement for the 3.6L or Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement for the 2.8L engine.



7. Remove the condenser tube quick connect fitting, using the J 45689 .



8. Remove the condenser tube clamp bolt (1).
9. Remove the condenser tube.

1. Install the new O-rings to the condenser tube. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
2. Install the condenser tube to the liquid line.



3. Install the condenser tube quick connect fitting (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

4. Install the condenser tube clamp bolt (1).

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

5. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement for the 3.6L or Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement for the 2.8L engine.
6. Raise the vehicle.



7. Install a new O-ring to the condenser tube. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
8. Connect the lower condenser line to the condenser.
9. Install the lower condenser line bolt (1).

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

10. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.
11. Lower the vehicle.
12. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
13. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A .

Condenser Tube Replacement LS2

Tools Required

1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
3. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .



4. Remove the lower condenser line bolt (1).
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .



7. Remove the condenser tube quick connect fitting, using the J 45689 (1).



8. Remove the condenser tube clamp bolt (1).
9. Remove the condenser tube.

1. Install the new O-rings to the condenser tube. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
2. Install the condenser tube to the liquid line.



3. Install the condenser tube quick connect fitting (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

4. Install the condenser tube clamp bolt (1).

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

5. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
6. Raise the vehicle.



7. Install a new O-ring to the condenser tube. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
8. Connect the lower condenser line to the condenser.
9. Install the lower condenser line bolt (1).

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

10. Lower the vehicle.
11. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
12. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A .
13. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
