Tools Required
    • J 38555-2 Inner Seal Installer
    • J 38555-1 Outer Seal Installer
    • J 23327-91 Overrun Clutch Spring Compressor

    Object Number: 174917 Size: SH
  1. Install J 38555-2 onto the overrun clutch housing (510).
  2. Install J 38555-1 onto the overrun clutch piston (513).
  3. Place J 38555-1 onto the clutch housing (510) and push the piston (513) into place.
  4. Remove the tools.

  5. Install the overrun clutch release spring (514).
  6. Install the overrun clutch release spring retainer (515).
  7. Assemble the overdrive roller assembly (516) onto the roller clutch cam (517).
  8. Install the overdrive roller clutch cam (517) and roller assembly (516).

    9. Object Number: 174914 Size: SH
  9. Place the retainer ring (518) loosely on the roller cam (517).
  10. Compress the overrun clutch piston release spring with J 23327-91 .
  11. Install the overrun clutch hub retainer ring (518).
  12. Remove the tools.

    13. Object Number: 174913 Size: SH
  13. Install the overrun clutch cushion plate (520).
  14. Install the overrun clutch plates (521, 522). Begin with the 2 steel plates and then the one composite plate.
  15. Install the overrun clutch backing plate (523).
  16. Install the backing plate retainer ring (524).
