The ABS components are sensitive to Electromagnetic Interference
(EMI). Perform the following checks if an intermittent malfunction is suspected:
| • | Check for proper installation of wiring harnesses resulting from
add-on options. |
| • | Visually inspect the wheel speed sensor and the toothed ring for
the following: |
| - | Visually inspect for looseness. |
| - | Visually inspect for damage. |
| - | Visually inspect for foreign material accumulation. |
| - | Visually inspect for proper mounting. |
| - | Replace any damaged components. Remove any foreign material and
properly attach all components. |
| • | Check for proper routing of front wheel speed sensor wiring harness
away from spark plug coils. |
| • | Monitor the scan tool wheel speeds while test driving the vehicle.
Refer to the appropriate wheel speed DTC if any wheel speed drops or displays
an erratic speed. |
