The SIR scan tool data definitions contain a brief description
of all SIR related parameters available on the scan tool. The parameters that
are available on the scan tool are listed below in alphabetical order.
Driver Air Bag Res.: The scan tool displays 0 - 6.6 ohms. The SDM performs the
resistance measurement test once each ignition cycle and verifies the
Ignition 1 and the 23 VLR voltages are within the normal
ranges. Then the SDM sources a constant current to the driver deployment
loop. The SDM then measures the voltage drop across the deployment
loop and converts the measured voltage value to a driver deployment loop
   resistance value.
Ignition: The scan tool displays the battery voltage. The ignition represents
the system voltage that is measured by the SDM between terminal 5 and
    terminal 7.
Ignition Status: The scan tool displays the status of the battery voltage to ensure
that it is within the normal operating voltage range.
LH Pretens. Resist.: The scan tool displays 0 - 6.6 ohms. The SDM performs the
resistance measurement test once each ignition cycle and verifies the
Ignition 1 and 23 VLR voltages are within the normal
ranges. Then the SDM sources a constant current to the driver seat belt
pretensioner deployment loop. The SDM then measures the voltage drop across
the deployment loop and converts the measured voltage value to a driver
seat belt pretensioner deployment loop resistance value.
LH Side Air Bag Resist.: The scan tool displays 0 - 6.6 ohms. The SDM performs the
resistance measurement test once each ignition cycle and verifies the
Ignition 1 and 23 VLR voltages are within the normal
ranges. Then the SDM sources a constant current to the LH side air bag
deployment loop. The SDM then measures the voltage drop across the deployment
loop and converts the measured voltage value to a LH side air bag deployment
  loop resistance value.
LH SIS Comm. Error: The scan tool displays whether or not there is a communication
error (Error/No Error) between the LH side impact sensor (SIS) and the SDM.
LH SIS Init. Status: The scan tool displays the initialization status (OK/NOK) of the
LH side impact sensor (SIS).
LH SIS Message Status: The scan tool displays the message status (OK/NOK) of the LH side
impact sensor (SIS).
Passenger Air Bag Res.: The scan tool displays 0 - 6.6 ohms. The SDM performs the
resistance measurement test once each ignition cycle and verifies the
Ignition 1 and 23 VLR voltages are within the normal
ranges. Then the SDM sources a constant current to the passenger deployment
loop. The SDM then measures the voltage drop across the deployment
loop and converts the measured voltage value to a passenger deployment
   loop resistance value.
Reset LH Side Air Bag After Deployment: The scan tool displays whether or not the SDM has been reset (Active/Inactive)
after the LH side air bag has deployed.
Reset Pretensioner After Deployment: The scan tool displays whether or not the SDM has been reset (Active/Inactive)
after the seat belt pretensioners have deployed.
Reset RH Side Air Bag After Deployment: The scan tool displays whether or not the SDM has been reset (Active/Inactive)
after the RH side air bag has deployed.
RH Pretens. Resist.: The scan tool displays 0 - 6.6 ohms. The SDM performs the
resistance measurement test once each ignition cycle and verifies the
Ignition 1 and 23 VLR voltages are within the normal
ranges. Then the SDM sources a constant current to the passenger seat belt
pretensioner deployment loop. The SDM then measures the voltage drop across
the deployment loop and converts the measured voltage value to a passenger
seat belt pretensioner deployment loop resistance value.
RH Side Air Bag Resist.: The scan tool displays 0 - 6.6 ohms. The SDM performs the
resistance measurement test once each ignition cycle and verifies the
Ignition 1 and 23 VLR voltages are within the normal
ranges. Then the SDM sources a constant current to the RH side air bag
deployment loop. The SDM then measures the voltage drop across the deployment
loop and converts the measured voltage value to a RH side air bag deployment
  loop resistance value.
RH SIS Comm. Error: The scan tool displays whether or not there is a communication
error (Error/No Error) between the RH side impact sensor (SIS) and the SDM.
RH SIS Init. Status: The scan tool displays the initialization status (OK/NOK) of the
RH side impact sensor (SIS).
RH SIS Message Status: The scan tool displays the message status (OK/NOK) of the RH side
impact sensor (SIS).
SDM Configuration: The scan tool displays whether the SDM is configured for only frontal
air bags or frontal and side air bags.
Warning Lamp: The scan tool displays the status of the air bag warning lamp.
