Condition
Some customers may comment on any one or more of the following conditions:
|     •  | Service Engine Soon (U.S.) light illuminated | 
 
|     •  | Check Engine Soon (Canada) light illuminated | 
 
|     •  | Anti-Lock Brake (ABS) light illuminated | 
 
|     •  | Erratic speedometer readings | 
 
Technicians may find multiple DTCs set including but not limited to:
Cause
This condition may be due to the metal tabs on the radiator surge tank outlet
hose clamp rubbing against the engine wiring harness, creating a hole in the plastic
wire conduit and damaging the wires inside.
Correction
Reposition the hose clamp and repair wires.
- At the front of the RH Cam Shaft Cover (rear valve cover) and just above
the cam position sensor, locate the metal clamp on the radiator surge tank outlet
hose.
 
- Rotate the hose clamp until the tabs point up.
 
- Repair the damaged wires. Refer to Wiring Repairs in the Wiring Systems
sub-section of the Service Manual.
