Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the rear compartment side trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement .

    2. Caution:  When a rear compartment lid hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

  2. Pull the hook end of the spring (2) from the hinge strap (1).
  3. Remove the spring (2) from the vehicle (3).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 367531 Size: SH
  1. Install the spring (2) to the vehicle (3).
  2. Inspect the operation of the rear compartment lid.

    3. Adjust the spring (2) by performing the following steps:

    2.1. Open the rear compartment.
    2.2. Adjust the position of the spring (2) on the hinge (1):
       • Increase the opening height of the lid by stretching the spring (2) or springs forward to the next notch on the hinge (1).
       • Decrease the opening height of the lid and release the spring tension by moving the spring (2) backward to another notch on the hinge (1).
  3. Install the rear compartment side trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement .
