Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 312312 Size: SH
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  2. Remove the tilt lever. Refer to Tilt Lever Replacement .
  3. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  4. Remove the steering column lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement .
  5. Disconnect the adjuster pedal switch connector which is located by the switch.
  6. Remove the 2 pan head tapping screws (2) from the lower trim cover (1).
  7. Remove the lower trim cover (2).

  8. If necessary, remove the adjuster pedal switch assembly (2) from the lower trim cover (1).

    9. Object Number: 332857 Size: SH
  9. Remove the TORX® head screw (2) from the upper trim cover (1).
  10. Remove the upper trim cover (1).

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 312325 Size: SH
  1. Install the upper trim cover (1) and secure by using the TORX® head screw (2).

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

  2. If necessary, install the adjuster pedal switch assembly (2) into the lower trim cover (1).

    3. Object Number: 312312 Size: SH
  3. Install the lower trim cover (1).
  4. Install the 2 pan head tapping screws (2) into the lower trim cover (1).

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 3.5  N·m (31 lb in).

  5. Connect the adjuster pedal switch connector.
  6. Install the steering column lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement .
  7. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  8. Install the tilt lever. Refer to Tilt Lever Replacement .
  9. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
