Condition
Some customers may comment on a click/creak noise when opening the door from the inside.
Important: This condition may occur on any of the four doors.
Cause
A lack of lubricant may be the cause.
Correction
Important: If no repair is made, it may be possible that the noise may dissipate after a number of handle cycles.
Apply lubricant to the inside latch release lever.
- Remove the door trim. Refer to the Front or the Rear Side Door Trim Replacement in SI.
- Remove the water deflector. Refer to the Front or the Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement in SI.
- Apply lubricant to the inside latch release lever as seen in the illustration above.
- Install the water deflector. Refer to the Front or the Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement in SI.
- Install the door trim. Refer to the Front or the Rear Side Door Trim Replacement in SI.
