Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1247907 Size: SH
  1. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement .

    2. Important: When disconnecting more than one sensor, mark the connectors to ensure correct installation. The electrical connectors are physically interchangeable, however, they must be installed to the correct sensor.

  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the left bank intake camshaft position sensor (3).
  3. Remove the camshaft position sensor retaining bolt.
  4. Remove the left bank intake camshaft position sensor (3).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1247907 Size: SH

    Important: Inspect the camshaft position sensor O-ring for wear or damage. If a problem is found, replace the O-ring.

  1. Lubricate the camshaft position sensor O-ring with engine oil.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the left bank intake camshaft position sensor (3) and retaining bolt.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the camshaft position sensor retaining bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Connect the camshaft position sensor electrical connector.
  4. Operate the engine and inspect the camshaft position sensor for engine oil leaks.
  5. Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement .
