Tools Required

    • EN 46326 Flywheel Holding Tool
    • J 41998-B Crankshaft Balancer Installer
    • J 45059 Angle Meter

    Object Number: 1674306 Size: SH
  1. Ensure the friction washer (3) has been installed prior to installing the crankshaft balancer.

    2. Object Number: 1656802 Size: SH
  2. Position the crankshaft balancer on the nose of the crankshaft.

    3. Object Number: 1656801 Size: SH
  3. Press the crankshaft balancer in place using the J 41998-B .

    4. Object Number: 1656797 Size: SH
  4. Clean the crankshaft balancer bolt threads.
  5. Apply engine oil to the crankshaft balancer bolt threads.

    6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  6. Install the crankshaft balancer bolt.
    7. 6.1. First Pass

    Tighten
    Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt to 100 N·m (74 lb ft).

    6.2. Final Pass

    Tighten
    Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt an additional 150 degrees using the J 45059 .

  7. Remove the EN 46326 from the engine block.
