  1. Place the gear shifter in PARK.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON, leaving the engine off.
    • The charge indicator turns on.
    • No charging system fault messages appear on the driver information center (DIC). The possible messages are as follows.
       - Battery Not Charging
       - Battery Voltage High
       - Battery Voltage Low
       - Battery Saver Active

Turn the ignition switch to START.

The engine cranks normally.

Crank the engine until the engine starts. Leave the engine running.
    • The charge indicator turns off when the engine starts.
    • No charging system fault messages appear on the DIC.
