Removal Procedure
Important: The replacement TCM MUST be programmed. Refer
to
Service Programming System (SPS) 
 in Programming.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to 
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle 
 in General Information.
 
- Remove the right front wheelhouse panel. Refer to 
Wheelhouse Filler Replacement 
 in Body Front End.
 
- Remove the engine control module (ECM) bracket.
 
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the transmission control module
(TCM).
 
- Remove the fasteners securing the transmission control Module (TCM) to
the engine control module (ECM) bracket.
 
- Remove the transmission control module (TCM).
 
Installation Procedure
- Install the transmission control module (TCM) to the engine control module
(ECM) bracket.
 
- Install the transmission control module (TCM) fasteners to the bracket.
 
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
- Connect the electrical connector to the transmission control module (TCM).
 
- Install the engine control module (ECM) bracket.
 
- Install the engine control module (ECM) bracket fasteners.
 
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
- Install the wheelhouse panel. Refer to 
Wheelhouse Filler Replacement 
 in Body Front End.
 
- If a new TCM is being installed, program the ECM. Refer to
Service Programming System (SPS) 
 in
Programming.
 
- Lower the vehicle.
