  1. Ensure the friction washer (3) has been installed prior to installing the crankshaft balancer.

    2. Object Number: 928051 Size: SH
  2. Position the crankshaft balancer on the nose of the crankshaft.

    3. Object Number: 948118 Size: SH
  3. Press the crankshaft balancer in place using the J 41998-B installer .

    4. Object Number: 928046 Size: SH
  4. Clean the crankshaft balancer bolt threads.
  5. Apply engine oil to the crankshaft balancer bolt threads.

    6. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  6. Install the crankshaft balancer bolt.
    7. 6.1. First Pass -- Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt to 100 N·m (74 lb ft).
    6.2. Final Pass -- Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt an additional 120 degrees using the J 45059 meter .

  7. Remove the EN 46326 tool from the engine block.
