Replace the wheels if the following conditions
exist:
| • | Excessive lateral or radial runout |
| • | Air leaks through the welds |
| • | The wheel nuts will not stay tight. |
Wheels with excessive runout may cause objectionable vibrations.
Replacement wheels must be equivalent to the original equipment wheels
in the following areas:
A wheel of improper size or type may affect the following conditions:
| • | Speedometer/odometer calibration |
| • | Vehicle ground clearance |
| • | Tire clearance to the body and chassis |
Steel wheels can be identified by a two or three-letter code stamped
into the rim near the valve stem. Aluminum wheels have the code, part number,
and manufacturer ID cast into the back of the wheel.
