Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 2003 🢒 Astro - 2WD 🢒 Body and Accessories 🢒 Body Rear End 🢒 Rear Door Latch Replacement - Lower

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Rear Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Separate the weatherstrip deflector at the perforation. Use a sharp-bladed tool if needed. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 324255 Size: SH
  3. Remove the control rod from the lock assembly.

    4. Object Number: 324256 Size: SH
  4. Remove the bolts and the reinforcement.

    5. Object Number: 324257 Size: SH
  5. Remove the following components from the door:
    6. • The latch
    • The rod
    • The retainer
  6. Remove the rod and the retainer from the latch.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 324257 Size: SH
  1. Install the control rod and the retainer to the latch.
  2. Install the retainer as shown in order to prevent squeaks and rattles.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 324256 Size: SH
  3. Install the following components to the door. Ensure that the arrow on the retainer points toward the front of the vehicle:
    4. • The latch
    • The retainer
    • The bolts

    Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to the door to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

    Important: Install new nylon retainers whenever you remove the control rods.

  4. Install the control rod to the lock assembly.
  5. Install the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement .
  6. Install the trim panel. Refer to Rear Door Trim Panel Replacement .
