Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Rear Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Peel the water deflector away from the door. Use a soft-surfaced scraper if needed. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement .
  3. Remove the control rods from the remote lock.
    4. 3.1. Pry the anchor out of the hole.
    3.2. Push the clip away from the lever.
    3.3. Pull the rod and the clip away from the lever.

  4. Remove the upper latch screws.

    5. Object Number: 324230 Size: SH
  5. Remove the upper latch, if equipped.

    6. Object Number: 324232 Size: SH
  6. Remove the upper latch and the rod from the door.

    7. Object Number: 324235 Size: SH
  7. Remove the lower latch screws.
  8. Remove the reinforcement.

    9. Object Number: 324234 Size: SH
  9. Remove the lower latch and the rod from the door.

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the clips to the remote lock.

    2. Object Number: 324234 Size: SH
  2. Install the lower latch and the rod to the door.
  3. Install the reinforcement.

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 324235 Size: SH
  4. Install the lower latch screws.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the lower latch screws to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  5. Install the upper latch and the rod to the door.

    6. Object Number: 324230 Size: SH
  6. Install the cover, if equipped.

    7. Object Number: 324233 Size: SH
  7. Install the upper latch screws.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the upper latch screws to 10 N·m (88 lb in).

  8. Install the control rods through the clips to the remote lock.
  9. Install the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement .
  10. Install the trim panel. Refer to Rear Door Trim Panel Replacement .
