The detent, the return or the canceling spring is broken, missing, or out of position.

The switch mounting screws are loose.

Tighten the screws to the specified torque. Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .

The canceling cam to the canceling spring interference is uneven.

1. Inspect the canceling cam and the switch.
2. Replace the damaged parts. Refer to Steering Column Jacket - Disassemble - Off Vehicle and Steering Column Jacket - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
