Did you perform the Radio/Audio System Check?

Go to Radio/Audio System Check

1. Disconnect the suspect speaker.
2. Connect a 1.5 volt battery across the speaker terminals of the suspect speaker.

Is there a pop noise from the speaker?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC or the RUN position.
2. Turn the radio ON.
3. Tune the radio to a strong signal.
4. Connect the DMMJ 39200 across the suspect speaker.

Does the voltage vary around 1 Volt AC?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 8

Replace the speaker. Refer to Radio Rear Side Door Speaker Replacement or Rear Pillar Speaker Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Radio/Audio System Check

Check for an open or a short in the following circuits between the radio, the speakers, the sub-woofer amplifier (if equipped), and the rear radio control module (if equipped):

Did you find a short or open?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Check if the vehicle is equipped with rear radio control.

Is the vehicle equipped with rear radio control?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 9

Repair the open or short in the following circuits between the radio, speakers, and the sub-woofer amplifier (if equipped):

Is the repair complete?

Go to Radio/Audio System Check

Go to Step 9

1. Disconnect radio connector C2.
2. Check for continuity from CKT 116 (YEL) cavity 19 to CKT 199 (BRN) cavity 20 and from CKT 46 (DK BLU) cavity 18 to CKT 115 (LT BLU) cavity 17.

Is there continuity through both circuits?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 9

1. Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement .
2. Send in the radio for repair.
