Removal Procedure
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.

    2. Object Number: 317065 Size: SH
  2. Remove the instrument panel from the vehicle. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement .
  3. Remove the inflatable restraint IP module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement in SIR.
  4. Remove the radio, if equipped. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
  5. Remove the bolts that retain the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module to the carrier.
  6. Remove the RKE module from the carrier.
  7. Remove the heater control assembly. Refer to Heater and Air Conditioning Control Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.

  8. Remove the nuts that retain the assist handle from the passenger's side of the instrument panel.
  9. Remove the screws that retain the cluster to the instrument panel carrier.

    10. Object Number: 317090 Size: SH
  10. Pull the cluster from the instrument panel.

    11. Object Number: 317099 Size: SH
  11. Remove the instrument panel trim pad. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement .
  12. Remove the nuts and bolts that retain the instrument panel steering column reinforcement bracket to the instrument panel carrier.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Install the nuts and bolts that retain the instrument panel steering column reinforcement bracket to the instrument panel carrier.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts and bolts to the steering column reinforcement bracket to the instrument panel carrier to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  2. Install the instrument panel trim pad. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 317090 Size: SH
  3. Install the instrument cluster to the instrument panel carrier with four retaining screws.

    4. Object Number: 317060 Size: SH
  4. Install the nuts that retain the assist handle to the passenger's side of the instrument panel.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts that retain the assist handle to the passenger's side of the instrument panel to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  5. Install the heater control head. Refer to Heater and Air Conditioning Control Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  6. Install the two bolts that retain the RKE module to the carrier.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the two bolts that retain the RKE module to the carrier to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  7. Install the radio, if equipped. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
  8. Install the inflatable restraint IP module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement in SIR.

  9. Install the instrument panel to the vehicle. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement .
  10. Enable the SIR. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
