Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 2001 🢒 Blazer - 4WD - RHD 🢒 Steering 🢒 Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt 🢒 Turn Signal Switch Housing - Disassemble - Off Vehicle

    Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:

       • Air bag deployment
       • Personal injury
       • Unnecessary SIR system repairs
    In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:
       • Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring.
       • If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.

  1. Disable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
  2. Remove the turn signal cancel cam and upper bearing inner race. Refer to Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Upper Bearing Inner Race - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .
  3. Disconnect the connectors from the windshield wiper and washer switch assembly (1), if needed.
  4. Remove the windshield wiper and washer switch assembly (1) in the following way:
    5. 4.1. Press on the locking tabs of the windshield wiper and washer switch assembly (1).
    4.2. Pull the windshield wiper and washer switch assembly (1) out of the signal switch housing assembly.

  5. Disconnect the connectors from the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly (1), if needed.
  6. Remove the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly (1) in the following way:
    7. 6.1. Press on the locking tabs of the IR signal switch assembly (1).
    6.2. Pull the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly (1) out of the signal switch housing assembly.

    Important: When removing the horn contact, the horn contact spring may become a projectile. Remove slowly.

  7. Remove the horn contact (2) from the signal switch housing assembly (1) in the following manner:
    8. 7.1. Turn the horn contact plunger to release it from the signal switch housing assembly (1).
    7.2. Remove the horn contact (2) and spring.

  8. Remove the 2 washer head screws (1) from the signal switch housing assembly (2).
  9. Slide the signal switch housing assembly (2) off of the steering shaft assembly.
