Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  2. Disconnect the intake manifold tuning control (IMTC) solenoid valve connector.

  3. Remove the upper intake manifold assembly. Refer to Engine Oil Pressure Sensor and/or Switch Replacement.
  4. Remove the three bolts, attaching the IMTC solenoid valve to the upper intake manifold.
  5. Remove the IMTC solenoid valve from the upper intake manifold by first twisting the solenoid valve to release it, and then pulling the solenoid valve away from the manifold.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1804698 Size: SH

    Note: Ensure the IMTC solenoid valve is fully seated before tightening the attaching bolt to the specified torque.

  1. Install the IMTC solenoid valve to the upper intake manifold and tighten the attaching bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
  2. Install the upper intake manifold. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Replacement.
  3. Connect the IMTC solenoid valve connector.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
