Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1758620 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine under cover.
  3. Remove the oil filter cap.
  4. Remove the oil pan drain plug and drain the oil into a suitable container.

  5. Remove the exhaust front pipe from the pup converter.

    6. Object Number: 1758623 Size: SH
  6. Remove the oil pan flange-to-transaxle retaining bolts.
  7. Remove the transaxle-to-oil pan flange retaining bolt.

    8. Object Number: 1758465 Size: SH
  8. Remove the interm shaft support bracket bolts from the oil pan and the engine block.
  9. Remove the interm shaft support bracket.

    10. Object Number: 1758625 Size: SH
  10. Remove the oil pan retaining bolts.
  11. Remove the oil pan from the engine block with pushing the engine assembly forward.

Cleaning Procedure

    Object Number: 1758631 Size: SH
  1. Clean the oil pan sealing surface.
  2. Clean the engine block sealing surface.
  3. Clean the oil pan retaining bolts.
  4. Clean the oil pan attaching bolt holes on the engine block.
  5. Clean the oil pan scraper.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1758625 Size: SH

    Note: Install the oil pan within 5 minutes after applying the liquid gasket to the oil pan.

  1. Coat the oil pan mating surface with sealant.
  2. Install the oil pan to the engine block.

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the oil pan retaining bolts and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

    4. Object Number: 1758623 Size: SH
  4. Install the oil pan flange-to-transaxle retaining bolts and tighten to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
  5. Install the transaxle-to-oil pan flange retaining bolt and tighten to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

    6. Object Number: 1758465 Size: SH
  6. Install the interm shaft support bracket and tighten the bolts to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).

    7. Object Number: 1758551 Size: SH
  7. Install the exhaust front pipe to the pup converter and tighten the:
    8. • pup converter-to-exhaust front pipe retaining nuts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).
    • exhaust front pipe mounting bracket bolt and nut to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

  8. Connect the negative battery cable.
  9. Install the oil pan drain plug and tighten to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).
  10. Install the engine under cover.
  11. Refill the engine crankcase with engine oil.
