Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the fuel sender assembly. Refer to Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement .

    2. Object Number: 318483 Size: SH
  2. Note the position of the fuel strainer (3) on the fuel sender.
  3. Support the fuel sender assembly with one hand and grasp the strainer (3) with the other hand.
  4. Pull the strainer off of the fuel sender.
  5. Disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector.
  6. Remove the fuel pump (4) from the fuel sender assembly.
    7. 6.1. Pull the fuel pump up into the attaching hose while pulling outward from the bottom support.
    6.2. Do not damage the rubber insulator.
    6.3. Inspect the fuel pump attaching hose for signs of deterioration.
    6.4. Inspect the rubber sound insulation at the bottom of the pump.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 318483 Size: SH
  1. Install the fuel pump assembly (4) into the attaching hose.
  2. Reconnect the fuel pump electrical connector.
  3. Install the fuel pump strainer (3) in the same position as noted during disassembly.
  4. Install the fuel sender assembly in the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement .
