Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the upper radiator baffle. Refer to Radiator Air Upper Baffle and Deflector Replacement .
  3. Remove the headlamps. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb Replacement .

  4. Remove the upper condenser mounting bolts.

    5. Object Number: 400853 Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolts from the front end diagonal brace.
  6. Remove the front end diagonal brace.
  7. Remove the fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Lower Shroud Replacement and Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement .

    8. Object Number: 401547 Size: SH
  8. Remove the tie bar to radiator brace bolts (1). Access the bolts from the rear of the upper radiator support using an extension.

    9. Object Number: 373066 Size: SH
  9. Remove the radiator mounting bolts from the rear side of the tie bar.

    10. Object Number: 373069 Size: SH
  10. Remove the tie bar bolts.

    11. Object Number: 371705 Size: SH
  11. Remove the upper headlamp housing support screws.
  12. Remove the tie bar.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 373069 Size: SH
  1. Position the tie bar onto the lower radiator support.
  2. Install the tie bar bolts hand tight.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

    Important: Ensure that the alignment is proper.

  3. Tighten the tie bar bolts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the tie bar bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  4. Install the upper headlamp housing support screws.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the upper headlamp housing support screws to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Install the radiator mounting bolts onto the rear side of the tie bar.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the radiator mounting bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  6. Install the tie bar to the radiator brace bolts (1). Access the bolts from the rear of the tie bar using an extension.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the radiator brace bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  7. Install the upper fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Lower Shroud Replacement and Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement .

  8. Install the front end diagonal brace.
  9. Install the front end diagonal brace bolts.

    10. Tighten
    Tighten the front end diagonal brace bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  10. Install the upper condenser mounting bolts.

    11. Tighten
    Tighten the upper condenser mounting bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  11. Install the headlamps. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb Replacement .
  12. Install the upper radiator baffle. Refer to Radiator Air Upper Baffle and Deflector Replacement .
  13. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
