| Subject: | Procedure to Initialize the SIR System During Pre-Delivery Inspection |
| Models: | 2001 Chevrolet and GMC C/K Pickup (Silverado, Sierra) and Utility
(Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon and Yukon XL) Models |
If a flashing SIR indicator lamp, with no DTCs, is encountered
during the pre-delivery process, the following procedure will correct the
condition.
- Connect the scan tool to the Diagnostic Link Connector (DLC).
- Turn on the scan tool and verify the software version. If the
Tech 2 software is not version 21.002, update the scan tool.
- Select F0: "Diagnostics".
- Select the model year "2001".
- Select "Light Duty Truck".
- Select F1: "Body".
- Select "C" or "K".
- Select F5: "Supplemental Inflatable Restraint".
- Select F2: "Special Functions".
- Select F0: "Clear Manufacturer Enable Counter" .
- When the function is completed the scan tool will advise.
- Disconnect the scan tool.
