Removal Procedure
- Remove the upper right valve rocker arm
 cover. Refer to 
Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Upper Right Side 
 .
 
- Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors.
 
Important: Do not drop the injector harness bolts in
the cylinder head oil return ports.
- Remove the injector harness bracket bolts for both injector harnesses.
 
- Loosen the encapsulated injector wire terminal nuts on each injector.
 
- Remove both injector harnesses.
 
- Remove
 the lower valve rocker arm cover bolts.
 
- Remove the lower valve rocker arm cover.
 
- Remove the gasket from the lower valve rocker arm cover.
 
- Inspect the lower valve rocker arm cover gasket for damage, replace if
necessary. Otherwise reuse the old gasket.
 
- If required, clean and inspect the lower valve rocker arm cover. Refer
 to 
Valve Rocker Arm Cover Cleaning and Inspection - Lower 
 .
 
Installation Procedure
- Install
 the lower valve rocker arm cover gasket.
 
- Install the lower valve rocker arm cover.
 
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the lower valve rocker arm cover bolts. Start with bolts 1 and 2, they
are used to position the cover.
 
Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the injector harnesses.
 
- Install the injector harness bracket bolts.
 
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Tighten the encapsulated injector wire terminal nuts on each injector.
 
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 2 N·m (17 lb in).
- Connect the fuel injector electrical connectors.
 
- Install the right upper valve rocker arm cover. Refer to 
Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Upper Right Side 
 .
