Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 2006 🢒 Chevy K Silverado - 4WD 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L 🢒 Oil Pan Removal

    Object Number: 178477 Size: SH

    Important: 

       • The original oil pan gasket is retained and aligned to the oil pan by rivets. When installing a new gasket, it is not necessary to install new oil pan gasket rivets.
       • DO NOT use the oil pan gasket again. When installing the oil pan, install a NEW oil pan gasket.
       • It is not necessary to remove the oil level sensor prior to oil pan removal. Remove the oil level sensor if service is required.

  1. Remove the left closeout cover and bolt.

    2. Object Number: 178480 Size: SH
  2. Remove the right closeout cover and bolt.

    3. Object Number: 1277112 Size: SH
  3. Remove the right closeout cover - RPO HP2.

    4. Object Number: 260123 Size: SH
  4. Remove the oil level sensor from the oil pan, if required.

    5. Object Number: 260108 Size: SH
  5. Remove the oil pan bolts.
  6. Remove the oil pan.

    7. Object Number: 1272840 Size: SH

    Important: 

       • DO NOT allow foreign material to enter the oil passages of the oil pan, cap or cover the openings as required.
       • Use care not to gouge, score, or damage the oil pan sealing surface.

  7. Drill (2) out the oil pan gasket retaining rivets (1), if required.
  8. Remove the gasket (426) from the pan.
  9. Discard the gasket and rivets.

    10. Object Number: 260180 Size: SH
  10. Remove the oil pan baffle bolts and baffle, if required.
