- Clean all of the parts with clean solvent.
| • | Blow-dry the parts with compressed air. |
| • | Wear protective safety glasses and gloves. |
- Inspect the system for the following conditions:
| • | Damage to the pump body and cover |
| • | Improper fitting of the drive gear and the shaft within the pump
body |
| • | Wear to the spacer plate that would permit oil to leak past the
ends of the gears |
| • | Wear to the spacer plate bushing |
| • | Wear to the driven gear bushings |
| • | Wear to the idler shaft |
| • | Damage to the pickup screen and the tube |
