Tip Inspect the inner splines for excessive looseness on the rear output shaft.  |

Tip Inspect the engagement teeth for chips or excessive wear.  |

 | Transfer Case High/Low Shift Fork Collar 
Tip Inspect the shift fork collar for wear.  |

 | Transfer Case High/Low Shift Fork Pads 
Tip Inspect the pads for wear.  |

 | Transfer Case High/Low Shift Fork 
Tip Inspect for cracks, broken areas, or other damage. The component must be replaced if damage is found. Refer to

 | Transfer Case Control Actuator Shaft 
Tip Inspect the shaft splines for excessive wear. The component must be replaced if damage is found. Refer to

Tip Witness marks at the location of the splines is normal.  |

 | Transfer Case Actuator Shaft Gear Teeth 
Tip Inspect for chipped teeth, excessively worn gear surfaces, and debris embedded in the root of the teeth.  |

 | Transfer Case High/Low Shift Fork Pin 
Tip Inspect the pin for wear. The component must be replaced if damage is found. Refer to

 | Transfer Case High/Low Shift Fork Spring Assembly 
Tip Inspect the cam lobes for wear or roughness. The component must be replaced if damage is found. Refer to
