Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the fuel rail. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement .

    2. Object Number: 783968 Size: SH
  2. Remove the fuel injector retainer clip (6).
  3. Remove the fuel injector (5) from the fuel rail (1).

    4. Important: Visually inspect the fuel injector in order to determine if the upper O-ring was also removed. If the upper O-ring in not removed, remove the O-ring from the fuel rail assembly.

  4. Remove and discard the fuel injector O-rings (3, 4).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 783968 Size: SH

    Important: Always install new injector O-rings when servicing the fuel injectors. Lubricate the new injector O-rings with clean engine oil

  1. Install the O-rings (3, 4) on the fuel injector (5).
  2. Install the fuel injector clip (6) on the fuel injector (5).

    3. Important: The fuel injector will click when the injector is installed correctly.

  3. Install the fuel injector (5) in the fuel rail (1) with the connector facing upward.
  4. Install the fuel rail (1). Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement .
