This bulletin is being revised to update the steering wheel puller legs special tool. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 05-02-35-008 (Section 02 - Steering).

This bulletin is being issued to revise the Steering Wheel Replacement procedure in the Steering Wheel and Column sub-section of the Service Manual. Please replace the current information in the Service Manual with the following information.

The following information has been updated within SI. If you are using a paper version of this Service Manual, please make a reference to this bulletin on the affected page.

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Zone Identification Views.
  2. Remove the steering wheel SIR module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement.

Tighten
40 N·m (30 lb ft)

Tip

    • Use J 1859-A Steering Wheel Puller and J 36541-A Steering Wheel Puller Legs to remove the steering wheel.
    • Ensure the adapter legs face AWAY from the center hub of the wheel.
