Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1656996 Size: SH
  1. Remove the starter. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement.
  2. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor wiring harness electrical connector from the CKP sensor.

    3. Object Number: 1578475 Size: SH
  3. Remove the CKP sensor bolt.
  4. Remove the CKP sensor.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1578475 Size: SH
  1. Lubricate the CKP sensor O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
  2. Install the CKP sensor.

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the CKP sensor bolt and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

    4. Object Number: 1656996 Size: SH
  4. Connect the CKP sensor wiring harness electrical connector to the CKP sensor.
  5. Install the starter. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement.
