Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 1996 🢒 Corvette 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Controls - 4.3L (Caprice Only) and 5.7L 🢒 Fuel Crossover Tube Replacement

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 13647 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to the Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure.
  3. Remove the fuel rail assembly. Refer to Fuel Rail Assembly.

    4. Object Number: 12578 Size: SH
  4. Remove the inlet/outlet fuel tube retainer and the attaching screw.

    5. Object Number: 12581 Size: SH
  5. Remove the crossover tube retainer attaching screws (4) and the crossover tube retainers (3).
  6. Remove the crossover tube (2) from the fuel rails.
  7. Remove the O-rings (1) from the crossover tube (2). Discard the O-rings.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 12581 Size: SH
  1. Lubricate the new crossover tube O-rings (1) with clean engine oil.
  2. Install the O-rings (1) on the crossover tube (2).
  3. Install the crossover tube (2) into the fuel rail sections.
  4. Install the crossover tube retainers (3) and the attaching screws (4).

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the crossover tube retainer attaching screws to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  5. Install the inlet/outlet fuel tube retainer and the attaching screw.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the inlet/outlet fuel tube retainer attaching screw to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  6. Install the fuel rail assembly. Refer to Fuel Rail Assembly.
  7. Tighten the fuel filler cap.
  8. Connect the negative battery cable.
  9. Inspect for leaks.
    10. 9.1. Turn the ignition switch ON for 2 seconds.
    9.2. Turn the ignition switch OFF for 10 seconds.
    9.3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    9.4. Check for fuel leaks.
