Intermittent malfunctions are difficult to accurately diagnose. The following method attempts to isolate an intermittent malfunction:
| • | The ABS/TCS warning lamps will not illuminate during the ignition cycle when a Magnasteer® malfunction is detected. |
| • | A diagnostic trouble code will be stored at the time the malfunction occurred. |
| • | The history data of the DTC will be stored at the time the malfunction occurred. |
| • | Use the scan tool to read DTC history data. |
Faulty electrical connections or wiring cause most intermittents.
