is not functioning properly, or the gear select (skip shift) solenoid is
defective: SECOND and THIRD gears only.

- Inspect the function of the gear select (skip shift) solenoid
circuit.
- Inspect the function of the gear select (skip shift) solenoid.
- Repair or replace components as necessary.

The transmission shift control is worn, binding or damaged.

- Remove the transmission shift control.
- Inspect the transmission shift control and replace if necessary.
