Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 2001 🢒 Corvette 🢒 Restraints 🢒 SIR 🢒 Enabling the SIR System

  1. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
  2. Connect the inflatable restraint IP module connector located near the base of the steering column.
  3. Install the connector position assurance (CPA) to the IP module connector located near the base of the steering column.

    4. Object Number: 68614 Size: SH
  4. Connect the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil connector located at the base of the steering column.

    5. Object Number: 68613 Size: SH
  5. Install the CPA to the steering wheel module coil connector located at the base of the steering column.

    6. Object Number: 68610 Size: SH
  6. Install the left sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  7. Install the SDM Fuse to the IP fuse block.
  8. Install the front floor kick-up panel. Refer to Front Floor Kick-Up Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  9. Staying well away from both air bags, turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    10. 9.1. The AIR BAG indicator will flash seven times.
    9.2. The AIR BAG indicator will then turn OFF.
  10. Perform Diagnostic System Check - SIR if the AIR BAG indicator does not operate as described.
